I recently wrote about planning for software service outages, (I work in the SaaS software space) specifically the emails/message center updates that need to go out for the good, bad and the ugly.
But what happens when things are going bad, cats and dogs start getting along and the bottom drawer vodka is about to get cracked…before 9am?
Fortunately you can plan for these things too. It’s human nature to rush and get panicked when troubles arise, but letting the emotion get the better of you or your team will only slow down what you should be doing, which is fixing the problem.
Let engineering do their part to fix the issue and you do your part by communicating through the proper channels.
